    Anyone know the best way to find an IFS practitioner?

  • @livingmedicineinstitute
    @livingmedicineinstitute 21 день тому

    Interested in the next, spiritual level of this conversation? We are excited to share on our channel a groundbreaking interview with Dick, with the below description. In this fascinating conversation, Dick discusses for one of the first times the spiritual implications of working with parts of self. In line with many traditions of the ancient world, we appear to have many parts that we are not consciously aware of. Though most of those parts belong to us, and are best integrated and healed, some parts do not. It is these that need to be removed, and their apparent sentient nature shakes up much of what current, scientific psychology is willing to see and accept. No matter what your views, you will be fascinated by Dick’s honest report of his decades of experience working first-hand at the crossroads of psychology and spirituality. Clinical evidence has shown that IFS works, and it is one of the most widely trained psychotherapy interventions today. We cannot, then, easily dismiss Dick’s wealth of clinical experience. The implications of this conversation are immense and only beginning to be understood. Deep gratitude to both Dick and his guides for their willingness and clarity in giving this thirsted-for guidance to the psychedelic provider community.

    Wow! Fantastic & very informative session - many thanks for the upload. Although I am a bit curious of where the Part got the belief that being a bus driver was connected with being lazy - a bus driver is an important role,, and has a lot of responsibility, you have to be present, and are responsible for the safety of many passengers, and other road users. If it weren't for bus drivers countless people would be unable to get to work, of visit their friends and relatives, and the already over choked roads would become even more busy and gridlocked with cars. Bus drivers, I believe are heroes!

    • @tycutner
      @tycutner Місяць тому

      To that part being a bus driver was mind numbing and lacked quality social interactions. We hated the job but was too lazy to make a change according to that part. In an IFS session curiosity towards a part is how we know Self is present. However, if we allow our parts to share their opinions (it's an important role, etc) you may be met with parts that jump out to defend their position.

    No one is _born_ with parts. Our environment shapes us, including our personality. Tabula Rasa. Schwartz is obsessed with talking about "parts" as if it is a discovery! Dr Gabor Maté is way ahead of this guy, but I accept that some need to start somewhere.

    I love Internal Family Systems Modality - The only alteration I have had to make through my own experimentation is that parts cannot blend with Self, I am always Self sometimes identified with a part - this perspective is far more empowering for me and the idea of blending wasn't reflective of my own experience.
